We ended the summer with The Saanich Fall Fair in Brentwood Bay where our Rotary Club provides kiddy and adult games. Our biggest and most fun fundraiser. Fall fairs, the best way to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.

Fall where everything is pumpkin …we tried the Vancouver Island corn maze at Pendray Farms…what a well done maze and yes we got lost lots. And the mud only added to the fun. We highly recommend checking this local Peninsula farm out. Fall is the always the time we spend more time at our local farms.  Fall is never complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch at Michell Farm Market.

We are always thankful for our family time and our annul Turkey on the Beach in Parksville.   In November we attended our first Vancouver Island Wedding Ring Awards at the Fairmont Empress. They are almost finished their renovations, what a beautiful hotel indeed. One of our favourites.   We checked out the Telus sparks Science Centre in Calgary for the first time…lots to see and do, actually there it too much to see and do. 

And then there was Christmas…we love everything associated with this holiday:  the baking, cocktails, food, parties and just all the sparkle and festiveness. We hosted a Swedish Christmas smorgasbord dinner with all the traditional food along with the St Lucia crowns that we wore.  We ended 2016 in the most beautiful way…Butchart Gardens. A must to see with all the Christmas lights where the beautiful gardens just come to life with all the lights and sparkle. A truly magically scene.
